What to visit with a short time in Los Angeles
We arrived in Los Angeles around 9pm, and got our car rental 30mins after. The Car rental is not in the airport that you will need to ride a shuttle bus going to the car rental place itself. They have a designated bus for each car rental.
Time to head to our hotel to get some rest?
Oh and did I tell you that there’s traffic even late night? Well the traffic in the morning is notorius, haha. Actually all day, we always have red line in our GPS. I think, we had a little chance of seeing the road traffic-free ?
We planned to go to Hollywood sign early morning to avoid the sun and the group of people who are also planning to go to it.
Here’s how to got to Hollywood Sign.
After a long walk, we finally made it to the Hollywood Sign. Woohoo, this is the closest we can get.
We didn’t really wanted to go to the bakc of the Hollywood sign, ’cause we don’t want to hike during summer, and it’s almost lunch time too. We parked really far, as we thought we were in the right place, so we needed to walk like 30mins to out parking spot.
Wah, we’re really hungry and time to try the In-N-Out Burger. Really curious, because I’ve been hearing this for a while and want to know what the hype is ? . We looked for the nearby In-N-Out Burger, and thankfully there’s one. When we get there, the was a lot of people, lucky we saw a free table for two.
For me, they are the same as the Shake Shack, but I really love the fries though ? . When we’re almost done with our food, the line is still long. People really like it I can say.
We’re good, and it’s time to roam the city, but we need to look for parking lot. Ok, I didn’t search for this one, and the parking area can get really expensive. We found one which we paid $15 but it’s not covered. The next day, we found out that the Hollywood and Highland Center has a cheaper price if you will have a validated ticket. Meaning, buy some items inside the mall, and asked the staff if they can validate the parking ticket, and that’s it. If you will be in the are for 2hours, and have validated ticket, you will only have to pay for $2. But well, the succeeding hours will not be the same, so it can still be expensive. In our case, I think $15 was cheap, considered we’ve been roaming for more than 2hours.
Anyway, time for Walk of Fame. I don’t have anyone in my mind that I really want to see, well, hmm, just two. Ellen DeGeneres and Michael Jackson. Which we successfully found it, after some time. And the rest, we just took a picture of it. It’s really long. But it’s one of the famous spot in here.
Next, Madame Tussauds, at first, I really don’t want to go, but I guess we still have time, and don’t know what to do, haha. So we bought our ticket, which is $30 each take a picture of the wax figures.
Ghirardelli is just in the corner too, so we got our free chocolate ?
Time to get out of the city, and see LACMA. At least we found a slot in the street parking.
Well time to rest, but we get our quick dinner and some water too. And the traffic got worst, when we tried to see Beverly Hills. I think it took us 1.5 hours to get out of the city.
The next day, we went to Santa Monica Beach, just to walk around the beach. At least the parking near the Beach is free for 2 hours, and that is enough for us.
We missed to take a picture of Kobe in Madame Tussauds, so we went back and I also got another picture of Michael Jackson star, since there were too many feet in the picture yesterday, haha. As I mentioned above, We went to Hollywood and Highland Center, to park, so we just paid $2 for less than 2hours.
And then we drive to the Warner Bros Studio, I just want to see where Ellen Studio is, and we don’t know where to start. So we just drive around.
Well time for lunch and time to get to the airport for our flight to San Francisco.
In-N-Out Burger is our favorite when we are in LA! We don’t eat fast food at home, but we always eat at In-N-Out in Los Angeles!
LA was so fun when I went. I didn’t go to an In N Out though and I desperately want to try it!
This sounds like a great day! I have never been to In-N-Out Burger, either. Those fries do look good.
One of the dream destination in USA for anyone is Los Angeles. You talked about some offbeat stuff and they fascinate me more. In-N-Out Burger sound like a cool place.
Sorry, did you just say FREE CHOCOLATE???? I’m coming, LA! 😛 But seriously, would love to visit one day. Great article!
Great post if short on time in LA. Think I’d prefer to stay longer and take my time visiting all these places. Would love to try those fries!
Those fries are making me hungry! Such a shame to spend such a short time in LA. It looks so great!
Out of the many cities in the USA LA is one that most interest me and yet I have still yet to visit. This certainly looks like a cool list of activities to do in LA. Hopefully I will be visiting soon.
I’ve never been to LA but it looks like such a fun city! Hopefully I can check it out in the future. Thanks for sharing!
I’ve never been to USA but would like to visit Madame Tussauds. Wax statues of Indian celebrities are also there now.
Nooooo, In-N-Out Burgers are so much better than Shake Shack lol. I also had a really limited time in LA so I just walked down the Boulevard, and then went over to Santa Monica and Venice Beach. It got dark while I was at Venice Beach, and that area got spooky pretty fast.
