Weekend in San Francisco Itinerary
We flew from Los Angeles and landed in San Jose Airport around 7:00 pm and as usual picked up our car and went straight to our hotel to rest. So we can start early morning tomorrow. We planned to go to Yosemite, but because of the wild fire, the point that we wanted to see are mostly close. So, I guess maybe next time ?
We started our day to go to the Painted Ladies, hoping there will be few tourist, ? , well they also thought of it. ? And it was really really cold, feels like Autumn, ? . We had a hot weather and then the temperature just drop here in San Francisco ? .
The Painted Ladies got popular because of the Full House show. But it’s really pretty houses, so colorful ?
After we got our pictures, we went next to Fine Arts of Palace, we just really want the view ? .
And we’re off to Fisherman’s Wharf, ’cause we are hungry. It was kinda hard to look for street parking, so after sometime, we decided to park in Ghirardelli, so we can have our lunch.
Once we’re done, we went to Pier 39 to see the Sea Lions. They are so adorable and loud ? … and they are fun to watch ?
We also got our churros while walking back to Powell Street. Time for us to experience the cable car, one of the reasons we are in San Francisco ?
We bought our round trip tickets, $7 for one way. The line was kinda long, and the waiting time took like 45mins, or 1 hour.
While we were waiting, I realized how manually it works. The guys just push the next cable car to be in a position. How cool and how hard it is. Actually I’m really surprised how these cable cars go up on those uphills ? .
And it’s our turn, finally. We got our place on the side of the car, and took some pictures. It’s kinda hard to take a video or pictures, if you’re one of the standers, if you’re gonna do it, just be careful especially if there’s oncoming traffic on the opposite side.
We got off at the Union Square and just took photos while we were there.
We used our round trip ticket from Union Square to Fisherman’s Wharf. Since we parked there ?
Since we plan to see a baseball game and it will be chilly during the night, we decided to buy some blanket and a hoodie. It’s kinda late, but we tried to visit the bridge, just to have a look if we can see it. But no luck, it’s already foggy, but we saw that it will be hard to spot a parking on the area, so hopefully we see it the next morning ? .
It’s time for the game in AT&T Field. And it’s my first baseball game to see in action, haha.
We didn’t finish the game, well I think there’s maybe 1 hour to go, just so we won’t be able to have a hard time going out of the field.
Time to rest.
On our second day, we checked out and went to Lombard Street. It’s still early, but there’s already a lot of people in the area, so we tried to take a people-free picture, well, we tried ?
We even drove down in the Lombard Street, just to experience how slow driving is. ?
After taking a picture of it, time for the San Francisco Bridge.
It’s really hard to find a spot, since it’s really limited, and when we finally found one, it’s really far. It’s almost on the top of the hill, but the walk is really nice, since it’s not hot, but it was windy, but definitely a good day.
At first, I thought that we won’t be able to see the bridge, cause apparently July and August are not really a good month since it’s foggy. But we’re lucky to see it, finally.
For the good spot, for me it would be the Battery Park, you can really see the bridge up close.
Well I think we’ve had enough, and we’re really hungry, ’cause we only had some snack bars. Then we look for some fast food, but we saw that Twin Peaks is just close, so we decided to go before we eat.
We didn’t take long, ’cause we really need to eat. We just went to Popeye’s, ’cause I’m craving for one ? .
Still got time, and I wanted to go back to the bridge. Unfortunately, there’s so much cars and there’s traffic too. So we just went back and go to Google, since our flight is in San Jose.
I guess it’s time for us to go home. See you soon again San Francisco.
Sounds like you had a great trip to San Francisco, pictures are fabulous! Thanks for sharing.
What fun you had. I love the sea lions. They are always so entertaining. You photos are fabulous as well!
We LOVE San Francisco! We only got to explore for four days and we were able to do most of these things, but I can’t want to go back and explore more off the beaten path stuff in SF!
I love San Fran too! Looks like you guys did all the highlights there and then some! Great bucket list!
Looks like a great time you had in San Francisco. Photos are amazing and well written itinerary.
I have never been to San Fran but would love to visit this hilly city one day. The Golden Gate Bridge, cable cars and the colorful Victorian houses look so charming. I am saving this post for later 🙂
We would love to visit San Fran one day. We are thinking about a big West Coast road trip in the future and it will certainly be included. Reading this has provided some extra motivation and will be very useful for our planning. Thank you!
Everytime I read about San Francisco, I feel like taking a walk around its iconic places. Those Sea lions at Pier 39 look adorable 😀
Great pics and sharing. Such a beautiful spot. I would live to visit it oneday?
I visited the US but never actually made it to San Francisco. You sure crafted a nice weekend itinerary here. I’ll keep it in mind if I ever visit 🙂
San Fran is so amazing and it looks like you covered a lot of ground and had a lot of fun sightseeing in such a short space of time!
Loved your pictures. San Francisco looks more like an European town to me from your pictures than an American one. Your itinerary looks like a lot of fun. Will definitely include it in my West Coast trip.
That pier looks amazing! I want to everything that you’ve done and I wish our kids were a bit older when we were in Anaheim as we would have drove to San Fran! Loved the video! 🙂
I lived in San Francisco for 2 1/2 years in the early 70s. I love it sooo much. I go there at least once a year to visit friends and because San Francisco became part of my DNA.
I’ve been to most of these places but I didn’t know about the seals in Pier 39. That looks so cool!
We missed San Francisco during our trip to the USA. I wish to see the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. I’d love to follow your weekend itinerary whenever I plan a trip to San Fran.
What a fun weekend!!!! I love the sea lions and really hope to get to see them very soon! You’ve definitely inspired me to get to SF as soon as possible!
