Solo Backpacking in Europe: Paris – alone and alive in the City of Love – III
I woke up early, like 7:00 am, to pack my things and to check out and eat my breakfast.
I left my luggage at the storage room (again).
In subway station, I bought the zone 1-5 Paris Visite. Versailles and CDG Airport is in Zone 5. So just to maximize the card, I decided to do the Versailles on my last day in Paris, so I can use it on both.
How to go to Versailles:
It will take 45 minutes to 1 hr to Versailles, from the hostel
I planned to be there at 9:00 am, to avoid the long queue. But still, there’s a lot of tourist when I got there.
I bought my ticket in the information center along the way to Versailles. I’m not sure if it is cheaper online by €1.
There will be a long queue at the entrance because of the security check.
After that, you’re good to go ?
Since the open time of the most museum are 1:00 pm, I didn’t wait for it, and just roam around the garden.
I wanted to go inside the museum again, but I need to go to security check again, and the line was already long. So nope, I’m good to go…?
I decided to finish my tour in Versailles, so I can still rest before I go to the airport.
I still want to visit Louvre for the last time, so I did ?
When I got back at the city, I forgot to walk around Montmartre, where my hostel is ?
Anyway, I just bought something to eat before going to the airport to Barcelona.
Going to the airport, will be on-line RER. I think it will take 45 mins from the hostel.
The airport is not that big, so there’s not much queue at security check.
Then its time to go to Barcelona ?
I love your blog! I’ve always wanted to do a backpacking tour of Europe! You’re inspirational!

Oh Paris! The City of Love? If that’s so, then I’m already in love with Paris too…I mean, the place is just so beautiful! You definitely spent your last day too well at Versailles; the architecture of the place is very beautiful let alone the museum!
We are off to Paris next month and I can not wait. Your pics are great and makes me so excited to go.
I have to admit, I have an addiction to Paris. I’ve been there couple times already and I am dreaming of coming back. I would like to live there if I would speak French.
I’ve always wanted to go to Paris! I think it’s beautiful and there’s so much that you can do there! It’s packed with beautiful architecture, a long history, and good food!
Oh! I don’t know if I’d be brave enough to do it all solo but WOW! You went to some really amazing places and I bet it was also so relaxing for you to have those moments on your own. What amazing pictures and surely it helped that you had nobody there to slow you down!
I’m so much in love with Paris and have been freaking out to visit this city, but we will be able to make it next year only. You showcased some really amazing architectures which made me fall in love with this place all the more.
ahh I miss Paris! So many amazing things to do. I even had to make a stop at their Disneyland! 🙂
Paris is somewhere I am planning to go to this summer as I have never even been to France before and I think it is about time I ticked that off my bucket list. And I do hope that it is the city of love as my love life is terrible haha.
These photos are absolutely beautiful, I must say. I did a fairly similar sort of itinerary when I was in Paris. It’s too bad you forgot to walk around Montmarte, that’s a very special area!
My experience in Paris was a short one and I’d love to see more of it. I love your photos!
