One Day in Horseshoe Bend, Lower Antelope Canyon and Grand Canyon

One Day in Horseshoe Bend, Lower Antelope Canyon and Grand Canyon? To be honest, I really want to visit these three great sites in one day. I know I’m horrible ?. But of course, it is doable if you start early, right?

We already have reservation in Lower Antelope Canyon with Ken’s Tour, as early as May, and our schedule is August 4. The reservation gets full so fast, that the time that I want is full already. But 8:30 am is good too ? So we got are slot.

Our flight arrived at 11:30 pm in Las Vegas, and we we’re able to picked up our rental car by 12:45 am. We wanted to have some energy boost Starbucks drink and a sandwich to get us going, since we don’t have much sleep, and my boyfriend, will drive like 4.5 hours.

So we start our long drive. We also have our offline GPS, since there are some places the the signal is poor or none at all. And we don’t want to be lost. But at some point, my boyfriend needed some quick nap, to be energize. So we took a nap in a rest stop set an alarm for 45 minutes.

When we woke up,we get some gas and we’re ready to move again. The view going to Page, is stunning. We plan to be there at dawn time. But since it’s summer, we can’t beat the sun and the dawn time was like 5:40 am.

We arrived at Horseshoe Bend like 6:45 am. And it’s time for a walk ? I’m so excited!!! And we’re pumped!

The walk was like 10-15 minutes. It’s very sandy (not sure if that’s the correct term ?) and hot!!! But it’s the horseshoe bend, so we’re coming for you ?

And wow!! just wow, I can’t believe what I’m seeing, it’s so huge, and I want to cry ?.

I just can’t stop taking pictures of it. And my lens wasn’t wide enough to do some justice.

Even though, we still want to stay, we need to get going for our schedule in Lower Antelope Canyon

Lower Antelope Canyon is just 10-15 minutes from Horseshoe Bend. Our schedule is 8:30 am, but we needed to be checked in 30 minutes before our schedule. So we just ate some protein cookie and went straight for registration. They just accept cash, so for the total of 2, we paid $100. Including the entrance fee to Navajo.

After registration, we went inside to wait for them to call our group. And they did ?!! It’s time!

We met our guide, he told us the settings for phone to get some cool pictures. I had my camera in a manual setting, so hopefully it will work ?

So we walk all the way to the entrance. And they explain on what not to do during the tour. And time to go down ? And no taking pictures while going down the stairs, for safety.

It’s so amazing downstairs. Don’t forget to look up, ’cause all angle are so awesome. The formation was stunning, it just awes me.

The guide sometimes take our cellphone or camera, to take our photos, or he will take a photo of the spot. Like this one.

After 1 hour of the tour, it’s time to go out. See how awesome is the exit ?

And that’s it, time to go to Grand Canyon. But we stopped somewhere first, to get an hour rest, and to have some lunch too before going to the Grand Canyon, we still have 1 hour to go.

And here we are, well almost. We paid the entrance fee, which is $35 per car. And they’ve given us some map and guide inside the Grand Canyon. The entrance ticket is good for 7 days, so you can just go in and out whenever you like in 7 days, nice right? ?

So I think, it’s another 20-30 minutes drive until we get to the Grand Canyon Visitor Center. When we got there, the parking was full so we look around and got a parking lot in one of the bus stop (Shrine of the Ages). Which is good, at least we don’t have to walk that far. But first things first, sunscreen ?

I have a list of what point we like to visit, because of the view. We have a limited time, and we didn’t plan on hiking the Grand Canyon. Just seeing it is more than enough for us.

Here’s how you can see South Rim Grand Canyon in Half Day.

The view, I can’t really explain how awesome it is. It’s so huge that I can’t even see the bottom part of it. Nature is just amazing. You have to see it for yourself and be prepare to be amazed.

We need to call it a day and drive to Sedona to get some good night rest.
