Sagada: Own my own in Mountain Province’s Pride II
For the cave, we will need a van.
‘Cause we’re running out of time, and we must be able to enter the cave before 5:00 pm.
We wanted to experience riding at the top of the van. They said it’s OK ?
On the way to the cave, there’s one more hanging coffin called Sugong hanging coffins.
We waited at the entrance while our guides prepared the things they will be needing to assist us.
Lumiang and Sumaguing caves.
I really wanted to try the cave connection. I don’t want to choose one cave to try.
We were all excited and full of energy.
They gave us some briefings and instructions for us to follow (to have a safe tour).
I brought my camera with me. But the guides will be the one who will be handling it. They are all expert in taking pictures at the cave. So I guess…”uhm, please take care of my baby(camera)” ?.
We have 4 tour guides that we will be assisting us. I guess its like 1:2 (1 guide per 2 people).
We didn’t encounter any difficult obstacles. But it’s slippery inside.
Later on, we saw a rope. And the guides told us that it’s time for rappelling. I was scared at first, ’cause I might lose my balance or slip and bumped to a stone.?
We’ve done some splits, crawled, ducked down etc, but you’re not allowed to get dizzy.?
And I slipped. Ouch! my hip hurts…
Well, they told us that you can not go out of the cave without wounds/bruise. It’s a souvenir. ?
We didn’t feel tired. The guides were making some jokes, to distracts us to not think of how difficult it is.
We made it to the 2nd cave, the Sumaguing.
Here is where you will see the amazing rock formations (can’t wait).
But it is getting chilly inside the (maybe because of the water). My legs are kinda wobbly at this point (because of the coldness and fatigue). We asked the guides, if we’re closed to the exit. They made a joke on us…”just a little bit more, a little bit until we give up” ?.
It’s really beautiful. I mean all the stalactites and stalagmites, wow!
We really tried not to bump in any of the rocks, it is more important than the bruise that we might get. ?
The exit was the hard part. I didn’t expect it. I thought that this will be the easy part, oh boy, I was wrong.
We needed to go down, holding into a rope. And it is not a floor, but in a water.
I mean, really?!!!! you’re kidding me right?
It’s really cold, I mean hypothermia like cold!
We walked in to the water (which was above neck, well, for me) to exit.
OK, fine. if this is the only way.
Some shouted, it’s my time to go down.
But, oops. I heard it wrong, he said to get ready, but too late.
I’m already on my way to the water, and slipped. For the 2nd time, I hurt myself. My body bump in the stone. I can’t explain it, but it was kinda painful. But I guess, I’m too cold too to focus on the pain. (Lesson learned, listen…)
I can’t really walk, but I tried. I even call my Mom! ?
I was shivering. My teeth were chattering. But I kept on walking or more like flipping my legs, to get my head above the water. LOL. But, I was still on the same spot.
Then, one of the guide helped, and pulled me out of the water..Thank you!
I thought we’re already at the exit, but wait. there’s more!
We needed to walked or climbed (I can’t remember ?) for 15mins ?
And were done. (please take me to bed ?)
We finished the cave connection for 4hours and 15mins.
Our guides told us that we did a great job, they assume that we will take 6hours to finished it.
The van picked us up, and drop us on our hostel. I’m too tired to think of dinner. I just went to bed ’cause we need to wake up early to see the sunrise in Kiltepan.
I already drink some pain medicines, just in case ?
lovely rocks. must have been a crazy experience. I liked the fact that there is a stream flowing through it.
Yeah it was. A great adventure for solo backpacker ?
Wow Beautiful Rocks! I love your pictures and article.
Such an experience! I love the caves, everything is so impressive! And I must say that you have a stylish pedicure 🙂
This looks like a great adventure and it does look slippery I bet I would also slip so many times.
Is this suitable for beginner? Or you need to be of certain experience to enjoy this adventure?
I’m a beginner, so I can say yeah, it is. But tour guides will be required in all activities. 🙂
This is so neat! I would like to try something like this one day. I’ve always wanted to explore caves.
Wow, that’s pretty intense cave exploring for a beginner. We love visiting caves, but it sounds like a cave like that here would be for advanced spelunkers only.
This seems like such a great experience with amazing pictures. I’ve always wanted to visit a cave as a kid to explore it’s beauty.
havent been back to the Philippines for awhile! And when I do this is surely in the list!
The looks so cool and I would love to see it, but I don’t think I could withstand the cold. I would have to give up much earlier. It looks like you had fun.
Those caves look beautiful. Looks like you had quite an adventure there!
The caves look like such a great place to explore. So dark and interesting.
Wow this is really cool. We have caves here but you seem to be on a private tour with the handful of people in your group. Last time I went there was probably 20 of us. There was no touching say anything about climbing. What an experience and kind of scary but kind of fun!
You really have to like caves to do something like this! I’m glad you took pictures, because this would not be a good trip for me.
It looks like you had an amazing time! I love visiting caverns; the rock formations are so cool! Im most impressed at you climbing that rope! You go girl!
Oh wah! That cave looks beautiful and majestic but at the same time surreal! Sounds like you had an amazing time!
Oh wow those caves are amazing! What a place to get to go and explore, there is something about caves that I have to admit always draws me in.
I can’t believe you had to walk through water that deep and they didn’t warn you! That’s crazy. It looks like you had a great experience, though.
Wo…… Those are one hell of a cave…. I hope you enjoyed your trip.
Caving is always fun activity to go with family. Rain or shine its will not stop you to explore this beautiful scenery.
Seems like a wonderful adventure.I love to visit a cave one day,so far I didn’t get such opportunity.
Wow, this is so cool. But kinda scary. 🙂
Looks like it was a successful trip. Loving the caves.
Wow, indeed such a great and fun adventure. However, painful experience. Haha Love the caves! I also want to try spelunking.
Fantastic pictures. I can’t believe they didn’t warn you about the water. No bueno!
This is really cool, adventurous and scary. And amazing pictures of the place.
